February 28, 2011: Observed a rare February tornado yesterday in north central Oklahoma! Here are a couple images for now. I'll get an account up by the weekend.

February 17, 2011: Spent the last two nights out waiting for aurora borealis displays, with no luck. Really hoping something happens tomorrow night. Here is a 4 hour star trail from last night at branched oak lake.

February 2, 2011: While others in the midwest are experiencing the blizzard of a lifetime, here in Lincoln we continue to have boring weather. We got clipped by the northern edge, ending up with around 3" of blowing and drifting snow. The real show will be at sunrise (at least I hope) with a chance for sun dogs and a circumzenithal arc. In case that doesn't happen I thought I'd post this photo from last years light pillars I photographed up in Blair, Nebraska with Mike Hollingshead and Chris Allington. We were out all night hunting for these annoyingly infrequent optics, but man they are cool! Be sure to check out the extremely rare pillars Mike photographed with "V" tops!
