Wow first account in a long while, hasn't been crap going on weather wise for 3 months+ , so nothing to shoot really. Most boring fall/winter I can ever remember in Nebraska. Anyways, I headed to squaw creek around 5am and got there right as the sun was rising. There were about 50,000 snow geese when I got there in a pile right at the entrance of the wildlife refugee. There's not a ton to talk about but I'll post a few from before most of the geese came back from feeding...
Later on around 9:30am more geese came back from feeding, Mike and I estimated about 200,000 to maybe 300,000 geese were there after 11am. It was a pretty crazy sight seeing that many in the air flying around in different formations and all different ways.
I got some video but it'll be a while before I post that, as next week are finals and I'll have a lot of studying to do. Anyways here are a few more photos later on with the bigger numbers. Didn't get any good eagle shots cause they were all way out in the center of the refugee and we couldn't get close to them.
This shot was crazy, they were all spreading out from something that was in the water and squeezing tight together, we guessed there was a muskrat in the water, or maybe it was loch ness, we'll never know.
Might go back sometime soon, but not sure I'll have time. Hopefully we'll get some winter storm soon, or I will go crazy this winter break.
