Wind River Range Backpacking TripSeptember 2-7, 2009
Went on an 4 day 41 mile backpacking treck through the Wind River range of Wyoming, with 7 guys from Omaha. Camped the first night somewhere between laramie and Cheyenne. The next day we got into the mountains and hiked 9 miles and camped by a nice stream west of shadow lake. We hiked up to shadow lake then next morning to shoot the sunrise. That day we hiked 11 miles I believe. This was the farthest we were from the car... about 19 miles away. The next day we can't in the lizard head meadows, it was easily the most beautiful campsite. We saw an elk, and a fox up to this point, but that was it. The following day we had an encounter with a bull, and calf moose which was cool. Also did some epic bouldering. It was a really great trip and man it was fun. chilies in Rock Springs was pretty Hilarious too lol. Anyway here are various images from the trip.
